New Male Contraceptive the Feminine Vagasel.
The new contraceptive for men Feminine Vagasel is on its way to the UK. It is the first male contraceptive to reach the market since the condom. The American FDA has approved it and it is expected to be available hopefully in 2018. The contraceptive is a pill that is a ‘non-hormonal polymer that is injected under local anesthetic into a man’s sperm carrying tubes, accessible through the scrotum – not the penis or testicles.’ It works by stopping Sperm leaving the scrotum.

Guys, don't be scared, your balls aren't going to explode. The tiny sperm that you produce die off and are created all the time, which is not the same as cum which is produced in the prostate gland and won't be blocked off.

The female equivalent to this male contraceptive would more or less be the coil. If there were a simpler method, like a pill, would guys actually take it?

One survey of 2,681 men showed that only 2 in 10 would take a male contraceptive pill, 89% said no they would not. The survey was done not on single men but on men with partners of a minimum of 6 months. It's a shame, whats so difficult in a man taking a pill? So many women do so daily for the benefit of their partner and themselves. Surely it would just be polite to return the gesture.

Unfortunately there appears to be a machist view. The reasons the men gave for not wanting to take it were 1. They were worried about hte long term effects and 2. They said it is the woman's responsibility to take contraceptives not theirs!

Sorry guys, but if we can take a daily pill, you can take one too it's just as much your responsibility as it is ours and why should we be the only ones to worry about long term effects? 2/3 of the men asked said they would agree to using contraception whilst having sex (condom), many said they didn't use any protection at all.

A spokesperson for the survey said:
‘I am really shocked by these results and I’m sure a few females will no doubt feel angry towards the male view that contraception should be a woman’s responsibility’
